We are a friendly and ambitious club in South Worcestershire. We offer opportunities for all – from beginners to County players.
We pride ourselves on having one of the best greens in Worcestershire, situated in parkland in the shadow of historic Pershore Abbey.
Founded in 1928, Pershore Bowling Club has had a long and distinguished history. To read more about how our club was founded and its early development, have a look at Early Club History.
We welcome members with all abilities and of all ages. For those just starting out we provide a full introduction to the sport of bowls through our qualified coaches.
We have strong Ladies and Men’s sections, with a full calendar of club afternoons/evenings, internal competitions, midweek and weekend league matches against other local clubs, and “friendlies” at home and away. Many of the games are organised as mixed.
As one of the largest bowls clubs in Worcestershire, many of our members have gained county honours and have gone on to qualify for national competitions. We have also provided County Presidents on a number of occasions.
Our Green is recognised as one of the best playing surfaces in the county. We regularly host inter-county matches and matches against touring teams from other parts of the UK.
During the winter, short mat bowls is played in the clubhouse, and we have a number of social events throughout the year, including our famous pantomime.
The club is fully licensed for the sale of alcoholic drinks, and its bar offers a range of bottled & canned beers, wine and soft drinks. During the main season, the bar is open for most matches and for club playing and social evenings. During the winter the bar is open for social events and Friday short-mat evenings.
As a “members club”, we depend on our membership for most of our services and operations. A management committee looks after the running of the club and members help with areas such as catering, bar and mowing. All new members receive a full induction programme that offers an insight into every aspect of the club.
Come and join us. You will be made very welcome
